The Heart
I grew up in a large family and my mom spent a lot of time in the kitchen cooking and baking. Watching her from the chair at the counter top and smelling all the wonderful aromas that would fill the air are some of my fondest moments as a child.
She would bake pies for local resturants and wedding cakes to make extra money for the family. and I was always in awe of how at ease she was in the kitchen and how everything she made tasted better than anything bought in a store.
Baking and creating/designing cakes is a creative outlet for me and is also very nostalgic. The heat of the oven doesn't just warm the house it also warms my heart.
